You can see a bit of Lynnfield School in the background. Also an interesting old car - I can't remember anyone in our street having a car!

Marg Dickinson Wedding 1965

Picture

This pic is of my wedding back in 1965 - still married to the same bloke - 50 yrs this year. Sadly the 2 people on either end are dead - older one on the left died at the age of 30 - she was married to Geoff Alder who was in the Hartbeats - younger one was my cousin - only 53 frown emoticon The little one is my sister - they tried to keep her in the church (St. Paul's) whilst I have photos taken but she screamed so much they had to let her out, so on all the pics where she couldn't be seen, it was cos she was hiding behind me.
I wouldn't like to be as thin as that again (was only 7½ st back then) but a compromise would be nice LOL

ALBERT BUCKTON

Picture

Derrick Rowbotham
This photograph had never been shown before. My late uncle Albert Buckton from Oxford Road is seen here in Hollywood during world war 2.In this photograph you can see Anna Neagle in her late 30s. The photograph shows the RAF lads visiting Hollywood. Their plane was subsequently shot down and hit a mountain in Norway were they are buried RIP. Albert was in his early 20s when he died, he had learnt his trade at Perry's in Hartlepool. He was a radio operator on... the plane he was shot down in. Further pics of Gagney and other pics will be posted later.
Dame Anna Neagle, DBE (20 October 1904 – 3 June 1986), born Florence Marjorie Robertson, was a popular English stage and film actress and singer.
Neagle proved to be a box-office sensation in British films for over 25 years. She was noted for providing glamour and sophistication to war-torn London audiences with her lightweight musicals, comedies and historical dramas. She won several awards as Britain's favourite actress and biggest female box-office draw. Almost all of her films were produced and directed by Herbert Wilcox, whom she married in 1943.
In her historical dramas, Anna Neagle was renowned for her portrayals of real-life British heroines, including Nell Gwynn (Nell Gwynn, 1934), Queen Victoria (Victoria the Great, 1937, and Sixty Glorious Years, 1938) and Edith Cavell (Nurse Edith Cavell, 1939).

This photograph has never been shown before. My late uncle Albert Buckton from Oxford Road is seen here on a Hollywood set during world war 2.In this set you can see Bette Davis in her early 30s. The photograph shows the RAF lads visiting Hollywood. Their plane was subsequently shot down and hit a mountain in Norway were they are buried RIP. Albert was in his early 20s when he died, he had learnt his trade at Perry's in Hartlepool. He was a radio operator on the plane he was ...shot down in. Further pics of Gagney and other pics will be posted later.
American actress Bette Davis was born on April 5, 1908, in Lowell, Massachusetts. After a brief theatre career, she became one of the biggest stars in the Hollywood studio system, appearing in nearly 100 films before her death in 1989. Davis is still considered an icon for her performances in such films as All Above Eve and Dark Victory, as well as for her larger-than-life persona both on and off the silver screen.
